Seven Inspirational Bedrooms for Kids

I’ve been looking to revamp Oisín’s bedroom – bring a little more colour into it and make it a little more inspirational. A place where he can go play or chill out and look at his books. Somewhere he’ll remember when he’s older as a safe & playful haven. I haven’t gotten very far but it’s high up on my to do list – I’ll keep you abreast of any developments 🙂

In the meantime, I thought you might like to see some seriously inspirational rooms which I’ve come across on Pinterest. I’ve picked my seven favourites but I have heaps more saved over on my Nurseries/Kids Rooms board if you want to take a look.

I love the simplicty of Number 1, the beautiful oversized poster and the blackboard table – very cool! Number 2 caught my eye because of the way the soft toys are stored above the bed and who could resist a basketball hoop – I absolutely adore the colourful sofa in Number 3 – a perfect spot for hanging out.

Number 4 was an instant winner due to my love of the colour purple. The picture arrangement in Number 5  did it for me – loads of images of family & loved ones to bring a real personal feel to the place. Number 6 just got me because of all the colour! But the winner for me has to be Number 7 – it just speaks to me on so many levels. The colour of the wall, the quirky little owl bag & the trinkets on the window – little thinks you’d pick up on your travels. For some reason the room has a real Mexican feel for me, probably because of the use of colour and the image of the girl on the windowsill. Whatever the reason I love it!

I hope this will give you all some inspiration for the little ones in your lives. Happy decorating!

Aine x

And how about those lovely mustard numbers you've used? Lovely colourful and fun ideas Aine.

Love these Aine, come spring Shaylyn will be moving into the small bedroom and Saoirse & Sadhbh into the large room so ideas needed! I have a feeling budget more than ideas will be the burning issue! Great post : ).

Interesting to see how kids bedrooms have been evolved within the last years. The tend to be still very colourful but you don’t have that only existing pastel color style anymore. Number 5 could even be an adult room!

What lovely bedrooms Aine! I love how colorful and eclectic they are. The flag bunting and the little table with chairs in #6 are so adorable!
